TapeFlips – DIY paper and duct tape furniture
TapeFlips – What is the future of furniture? from TapeFlips on Vimeo.
The principle is very simple, involving just three pieces of adhesive tape connecting the surface of one panel with the surface on the opposite side of the other panel. The trick is to alternate the three pieces in a chess pattern – two on one side and the one between them on the other.
I would not exchange all my furniture for paper ones, but I see the potential in this. Imagine going to a fair where you need to exhibit stuff. In some places (read Dan D in Croatia for example) you don’t even get a table. Living in a dorm, or a temporary flat during university year could also be made easier with TapeFlips. I certainly love the idea, and it kinda looks cool too:) What do you think?
